Guide to Killing the Shoe Game No Matter What Size You Wear

It’s not easy being a woman with larger feet, especially if you’re a fashion lover. So I decided to share my strategy on finding shoes for any and every situation. It takes time, effort and some creativity but it can actually be fun! Below are five major tips for having a killer shoe game no matter what size you wear:

Plan Ahead –  With majority of my shoe purchases being made online, planning ahead is necessary! When shopping for events, I prefer to start shopping at least a month to two weeks early. This allows for shipping without the stress of shoes not arriving on time and even to possibly return them to find something better if they don’t work out as planned. The more time I give myself the better!

Stay Active –  I always keep my eyes on what’s out there. There are four retailers I look to weekly just to get an idea of whats available (Nordstrom, Ninewest, Torrid, Zappos). This may be a bit obsessive but I love the hunt and the rush that comes whenever I come across a shoe that is a once in a life time find in my size! Larger sizes sell out FAST, so If I love them and can afford them… I buy them! Don’t judge me. I also make occasional trips to Nordstrom rack, I never know what I’ll find.

Maximize Your Options – Buy transitional footwear. Our options are already extremely limited and since I’m “styling on a budget”, I want to keep my feet and bank account happy. I buy footwear that can fit many different occasions and can be mixed and matched with different clothing styles. I consider my style “causal chic” so I look for styles that fit both casual and chic aesthetics!

Get Creative– I love mens shoes as well as DIY shoe projects. Men’s styles tend to be a bit more bulky, but sneakers and sandals from retailers such as Zara and ASOS are a super chic and offer fun styles for men who are a bit more fashionable than average. DIY’s are perfect to make replicas of high end footwear but if your not constantly looking through editorials, insporation can be hard to come by. I love YouTubers like Locks and Trinkets, her DIY’s are EVERYTHING.

Be Resourceful– Following my favorite bloggers keeps me up to date with the trends, outfit inspiration and shoes that I’ve missed from companies I don’t follow often. Bloggers such as Mia the Boss, Tall and Natural, and even up and coming bloggers styled by V and Maison Noire where sizes 10-12 so if they’re wearing it, it’s pretty much I guaranteed in your size!
