Confessions Of a Tall Girl

Had the pleasure of working with fellow tall blogger Maison Noire and decided more of us needed to tell our stories of growing up tall and having larger feet. She has also struggled with finding the right size of clothing and footwear so we decided to have a little fun dressing up as well as tell our stories. She decided to go with a classic pair of size 11 thigh high boots with the perfect summer Free People dress. Link at the bottom to view read my story and outfit!

Peep her story below…

“Having extremely long legs and large feet has always made shopping and finding clothes that much more difficult. Not to mention the fact that I’m also curvy! It was a miracle if I could find a pair or jeans or a maxi skirt that didn’t make me look at if a flash flood had swept through my closet. Short dresses turned into micro mini on my legs and I was scolded on several occasions in school for being “inappropriately” dressed, even though I wasn’t wearing anything different than the next girl. What was different was how it looked on me. I regularly went to the mall and felt extremely discouraged, frustrated and down on myself because nothing ever fit right. ALL ( and I seriously mean ALL) of the cutest shoes my friends were wearing were hardly ever in my size. I thanked the man upstairs when Uggs became all the rage because at least though I could always get. As I’ve grown older and dedicated my life to style, it has become easier to hunt for the right pieces but I would be lying if I said it was easy. Size 11’s are a rarity at popular shoe stores (hint hint Public Desire I’m trying to score those perspex babies) and length is hard to come by. Nevertheless, there are the godsend stores like DSW and Asos where I know I won’t be let down. So if you’re struggling to find jeans that hit your ankles and shoes that don’t murder your toes, you aren’t alone. Luckily, you’ve got the head hunters like us who will do the grunt work for you and direct you towards the shoe porn of your dreams.”
