Not So Mellow Yellow

As many of us know, finding shoes for women with larger shoe sizes is truly a pain. There are moments I find multiple pairs of shoes in my size that are so bomb yet my bank account balance is looking back at me like, "Yeah right girl, try again next month." Then there are moments I can't find any shoes to save my life! Its like I have all of these outfits in my head with the same old shoes in rotation. It’s a frustrating feeling that has been with me since my love of shoes was ignited. I love all types of footwear and I love blogging but, when those two major issues of no shoes and no money...

20 Something

Being a 20 something year old in 2017 is rough in so many aspects, especially in regards to finances.  According to Wells Fargo, a record breaking number of millennials are living with their parents, which in large part is due to debt and a job market that hasn’t returned to its pre-recession glory. If you’re “boujee on a budget”, like my good friend Victoria likes to call it, then you know how physically painful it is to see the most amazing items online and in your favorite clothing stores that are way out of your price range. Worry is a silent killer, so silent, I didn't even realize how much it was wreaking havoc on my body, physically and emotionally. I've been worrying so much about my finances, career, and love life unknowingly worrying myself sick. Everyday is a battle but it is a process of realizing there is absolutely nothing we should be focused on more than the present. I'm realizing that I can't stress and worry about what's to come anymore because it's not productive and I rather spend my time on way more important things like enjoying life and focusing on my grind while being grateful of what I...

STAYCATION

About a year or so ago, I discovered Forever 21 began to carry select styles of wide women's footwear up to size 13 but the selections were very limited. Even though I'm not the biggest fan of the brand, I was excited for more affordable options! I have to give it to them for reasonable prices on trends that are here today and gone tomorrow. A friend of mind spotted these transparent slides online and less than 2 minutes after showing them to me, I was entering my credit card information! Being in sort of a slump the last few weeks, my mood more down than up, slides are the only shoes I want to wear. When I'm feeling down, heels are...

Criss Cross & Perspex-tive

Challenges are not here to destroy but to make us stronger, wiser, and smarter. Sometimes it's that involuntary leap that we don't have the courage to take on our own, a test of our abilities or elimination of comfort zones that causes us to reach for our own greatness. Recently, I've learned to deal with challenges in a way that no longer causes grief, stress, or sweat off my back. When faced with challenges, I know whatever the issue is, I will find the answer within. I have learned to trust in myself and God that everything will be fine and better than expected. So, I enjoy every challenge, road block and speed bump life throws my way. When faced with the...
